Capercaillie nest

We are sharing the recipe of the most festive salad from our collection which is called capercaillie nest

We need:

  • Turkey breast fillet (400g)
  • 4 chicken eggs
  • 4 quail eggs
  • 4 big potatoes
  • 4 onions
  • 2 cucumbers
  • Mayonnaise (160g)
  • Seed oil (1 glass)
  • Processed cheese (not liquid, it would be perfect to use the one from our childhood, packed in foil) (40g)
  • Fresh greens
  • Salt, pepper to your liking

First of all, we need to prepare the filling:

  1. Boil the fillet for 20-25 minutes until done. Let it cool and chop it.
  2. Hard-boil chicken and quail eggs.
  3. Cut the onions into thin semi-rings and pour boiled water to reduce bitter taste and make it gentler.
  4. Cut the potatoes into thin chips and fry on a pan with hot oil. When finished, dry it with tissues.
  5. Wash and chop the greens.
  6. Grate the cheese and chicken eggs with the use of a big grater and put them into different bowls.
  7. Wash the cucumbers and cut them into thin strips.

Now let’s make a nest:

  1. Put the onion on the plate.
  2. Put the fillet on the onions and smear it with mayonnaise.
  3. Put the cucumber strips, smear it with mayonnaise and put the eggs.
  4. Put grated cheese in the shape of a circle with a deepening in the middle.
  5. Put the greens in the middle, and decorate the sides with fried potatoes.
  6. Cut the quail eggs and take out the yolk. Add the mayonnaise, a little bit of chopped greens, and grated processed cheese to the yolks. Mix the filling with a fork and stuff halves of quail eggs with this mixture. Then put it in the middle of a nest.

Enjoy your meal!
